Community Guidelines & Terms of Use

1. About Balearic FM Chat

Balearic FM provides a live chat feature that allows listeners to connect with each other and with DJs during broadcasts. This chat is a community space for House music lovers. By participating, you agree to these Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.

The chat service is powered by Relaya (relaya.chat). Your use of Balearic FM chat is also subject to Relaya's Terms of Service at relaya.chat/terms.

2. Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content. The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Hate speech, slurs, or content that demeans individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
  • Harassment, threats, intimidation, or targeted abuse of any individual
  • Sexually explicit or pornographic content
  • Content that promotes or glorifies violence, self-harm, or illegal activity
  • Spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive disruptive messages
  • Sharing of personal information about others without their consent (doxxing)
  • Impersonation of other users, DJs, or Balearic FM staff
  • Content that violates any applicable law or regulation

3. Zero Tolerance for Abusive Behavior

We have zero tolerance for abusive behavior toward other users or toward Balearic FM staff and DJs. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Repeated unwanted contact or messages directed at a specific user
  • Coordinated harassment or pile-ons
  • Deliberate disruption of the chat community
  • Attempting to circumvent bans or blocks

4. Reporting Objectionable Content

If you see a message that violates these guidelines:

  1. Long-press the message in the Balearic FM app
  2. Select “Report” from the menu that appears
  3. The report is sent immediately to Balearic FM moderators for review

Reports are reviewed by human moderators. We aim to act on reports promptly.

5. Blocking Abusive Users

If another user is bothering you:

  1. Long-press any message from that user in the Balearic FM app
  2. Select “Block user” from the menu that appears
  3. Confirm the block — subsequent messages from that user will no longer be visible to you

You can view and manage blocked users from the online users list in the chat tab. Blocking is private; the blocked user is not notified.

6. Moderation and Enforcement

Balearic FM moderators may, at their discretion:

  • Remove any message that violates these guidelines
  • Issue warnings to users
  • Temporarily or permanently ban users from chat

Bans may be issued without prior warning for serious violations. There is no formal appeals process, but you may contact us at [email protected] if you believe a ban was issued in error.

7. Account and Identity

  • You must provide a valid email address to participate in chat (used for one-time password sign-in only; not shared with other users)
  • You may choose a display name; it must not impersonate others or contain offensive language
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account

8. Data and Privacy

Your email address is used solely for authentication (one-time password delivery). It is not displayed to other chat users. Your display name and chat messages are visible to other users in the same chat space.

9. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these guidelines from time to time. Material changes will result in a new version number, and you will be asked to re-accept the updated guidelines on your next sign-in to chat. The current version and effective date are shown at the top of this page.
